An amateur rocket recently launched to over 200,000 feet, about 46 miles above sea level. Although the camera on the rocket clearly has a fish-eye lens, you can also clearly sea a limited view of the earth beneath. That is because the earth’s surface is curving away from you, show that the earth is in fact a globe, and not flat. If it were flat, you would be able to see the face of the earth extending for hundreds of miles.
